Week of February 14th

Hello Families,

This week our Kindergarten Group will be working on the following:

Language Arts: Letter of the week: D,d, Sight words: for (using sight words and visual cards  to make sentences), practice writing the alphabet letters and sight words, blending three letter sounds to read and write three letter short vowels (i & a ) words.

Math: Subtraction concept, reading, writing and recognizing numbers to 20, spiral review of pattern, graphing, and comparing quantities (more/less).

Science:  Building with Lego                 Social Studies: George Washington, How Do Animals Say I Love You?

 

1st, 2nd, & 3rd grade students are in two groups according to their academic levels: 

Group A:

Language Arts: SIPP program and Houghton Mifflin Program. This week students will practice using  verbs with inflections: s, ed, and ing. Words with ay sound.

Math: Adding & subtracting one and two digit numbers without regrouping, subtracting. Solving Math Story Problems.

Recognize, name, and give the value of coins. Sorting coins and adding their values.

Science:  Building with Lego                 Social Studies: George Washington, How to take care of teeth.

 

Group B:

Language Arts: 2nd Grade Houghton Mifflin Curriculum.

Math: Multiplication (by 0, 1, 2, 5, & 10), and Money

Science:  Building with Lego                 Social Studies: George Washington, Sugar/Healthy Food

Writing: all students are working on "How To" in writers work shop. Soon we will start on our animal reports (informational writing).

Week of February 6th
